about

"...a beautiful tribute to that singular talent [Gainsbourg] and, live, it is even more entrancing."
- Pamplemoose.com

69 Année Érotique is a CD of instrumental jazz interpretations of the music of French pop icon Serge Gainsbourg. The album features some of Gainsbourg's most famous numbers from the 1950's through the 70's, including " Je t'aime... moi non plus", "Bonnie & Clyde", and "Ballade de Melody Nelson".

"Todd Bishop has done something special here, respectfully presenting Gainsbourg's music with [Bishop's] own... American flair. [He] readily captures the international sexiness of Gainsbourg's tunes while buffing them to a 21st Century shine. "
- C. Michael Bailey, Allaboutjazz.com

about

Todd Bishop Portland, Oregon

Since the early 90's, drummer Todd Bishop has led jazz, avant-garde and indie rock groups and produced six CDs for Seattle's Origin Records and independent release. With his unique organic percussive approach, he is a compelling musician, owing as much to the influence of Olatunji or Keith Moon as to the jazz masters.

Bishop is also the author of the leading drumming blog Cruise Ship Drummer.
